Brew Master - Thokozani Sithole

Born and raised in the scenic hills of Balgowan, KwaZulu-Natal, Thokozani Sithole’s journey into brewing began at home, where he first learned the art of traditional beer making.

Driven by curiosity and a hands-on spirit, his early career took him through a variety of industries — from construction and security to gardening — each experience shaping his practical and determined approach to life. His passion for fermentation was sparked while working in the Natal Midlands, where he began crafting wine and mead. When the lead winemaker moved on, Thokozani stepped in and quickly honed his natural talent, developing an intuitive understanding of flavor, chemistry, and process.

Through years of dedication, experimentation, and mentorship from seasoned brewmasters, Thokozani formalized his expertise with a Brewing Certificate from the Institute of Brewing and Distilling and completed a Sensory Analysis Course at the Siebel World of Technology. His technical insight, deep respect for the craft, and creative flair have earned him recognition as one of South Africa’s most passionate and skilled brewers.

In 2024, Thokozani joined Jozi Gold Brewing Company as our Head Brewmaster, where he continues to refine our recipes and elevate every pint we pour. His journey — from humble beginnings to mastering the science and soul of brewing — reflects the spirit of resilience, innovation, and pride that defines our brewery.

 

Chef - Joshua Stadt

Born and raised in Eldorado Park, South Africa, Chef Joshua Stadt discovered his love for cooking at just 11 years old in his grandmother’s kitchen. It was there, among the aromas of freshly baked pumpkin cakes and cardamom biscuits, that his lifelong passion for food began to take shape. His grandmother — a true home cook at heart — instilled in him the values that continue to guide his culinary philosophy today:

“Clean as you go, and never waste a thing.”

Chef Joshua’s cooking style is deeply rooted in the diversity of South African flavours, beautifully infused with modern Cape Malay, Southern  African and Indian influences. The result is a vibrant and soulful flavour profile that bridges cultures and traditions, offering guests an unforgettable dining experience.

One of his signature creations, Tuscan Curry Yellowtail, is served on a bed of steamed broccoli and topped with smoked baby tomatoes — a dish that perfectly captures his innovative approach to balancing flavor, freshness, and presentation.

With over 14 years of progressive experience in the culinary arts, Chef Joshua has honed his craft in high-volume, fast-paced environments where excellence is the standard. He trained at H.T.A Chef’s School, where he earned his Culinary Senior Certification, and later worked under the esteemed Chef Warren Pope, Executive Chef of a leading financial institution.

Today, as an accomplished Executive Chef, Joshua continues to bring creativity, precision, and passion to every dish he creates — driving culinary innovation, operational excellence, and an exceptional dining experience for every guest.

Head Administrator - Tatum Stadt

Tatum is a detail-oriented administrator skilled in managing workflows, supporting teams, and maintaining effective daily operations. With a focus on organization and communication, Tatum ensures a smooth and productive work environment.

Head: Sales & Marketing - Glynis Jardine

Glynis has extensive experience in managing strategic relationships and marketing in the corporate world. She also worked with the public sector in her role as Provincial Manager for a major financial  services institution for over 30 years. Her passion and drive for client experience and satisfaction are world-class and are backed by the numerous accolades and awards received in the banking sector. 

 

Nadia Jardine was born and raised in Johannesburg. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Psychology from Wheaton College in Massachusetts, USA. As the CEO of her family-owned business, she is dedicated to upholding the family tradition of offering exceptional food and drink in a welcoming atmosphere. With a strong passion for the arts and creative industries, Nadia strives to make Jozi Gold a vibrant gathering place where people can come together to celebrate the rich heritage of Johannesburg. Under her leadership, Jozi Gold is not just a venue; it’s an experience devoted to fostering connections and community.
