Siya Makuzeni is an award-winning South African trombonist, vocalist, composer, and producer, and the 2016 recipient of the Standard Bank Young Artist Award for Jazz. Known for her powerful stage presence and genre-defying sound, she seamlessly blends jazz, rock, and African musical traditions.

Makuzeni has collaborated with an impressive roster of global and local artists, including Themba Mkhize, Khaya Mahlangu, Sibongile Khumalo, Regina Carter, and Branford Marsalis. She has also performed alongside Grammy-winning musicians such as David Murray and Jacky Terrasson.

A dynamic bandleader, she fronts her own rock outfit, IppYFuzE, while also working extensively as a composer and arranger across film, theatre, and television. Her recent credits include Nelson Mandela: The Lost Tapes, I Am All Girls, and Mzansi Magic’s The Road.

With an international career spanning performances in the USA, Europe, and Africa, Siya Makuzeni continues to push creative boundaries, making her one of the most compelling voices in contemporary South African music.
